Polishing & Smoothing

Perfect surface haptics up to high gloss polish - for optimal functionality & aesthetics

As a process step after vibratory grinding or wet grinding, we offer surface finishing by polishing and smoothing. This process technology ranges from leveling to a high-gloss surface and gives the respective workpiece its optimum function and service life.

Polishing & Smoothing

Very smooth or high-gloss surfaces stand for maximum aesthetics and quality. Such high-performance surfaces with low roughness are required above all in the medical and jewelry sectors and in the automotive industry. Some technical parts must have certain frictional resistances and must therefore not be too rough or too smooth. The polishing of workpieces minimizes wear, energy consumption and noise generation. For jewelry and in the dental field, the very highest surface quality and aesthetics always apply.

Trust the specialist: The desired quality can be measured via roughness values or gloss burr values and is visually achieved via visual final inspection with special daylight lamps. We make your workpieces shine.

Process & Materials

Diverse materials:

  • Metals (and alloys)
  • Precious metals (gold, silver, etc.)
  • Steels (and alloys as well as low alloy steels)
  • Medical steels (and alloys)
  • Titanium & Alloys
  • Plastics
  • Ceramics

Polishing & Smoothing with Ceramic Finish

Best suited for technical parts with technically complex requirements.

Ceramics are very hard and heavy, making smoothing correspondingly time-consuming. Ceramic-bonded polishing bodies and a special Keramofinish compound are used to process the workpieces. Acceleration occurs due to the high pressure.

Pressure polishing

Ideal for e.g. cutlery and household goods processed by special stainless steel balls as well as stainless steel satellite-shaped polishing bodies.

The process of pressure polishing is carried out in large circular vibrators. In a large filling quantity of balls, often stainless steel balls, a high pressure is generated on the workpiece. This pressure is created by the mass and filling quantity of the balls and can be varied and adjusted according to requirements.

Nut shell polishing

Specific for jewelry and very fine parts.

The process of nutshell polishing is characterized by very fine polishing without great pressure. It is mainly used in centrifugal or planetary centrifugal systems or in drag finishing systems. Polishing media carriers are, as the name suggests, walnut granules, nutshells or also corn scrap.
